Build Quality:

DMR106 XR is Makita‘s “entry-level” job site radio, if we can call it that. Right off the bat, you can see, in addition to the classic yellow and black theme, it’s a rugged look. That’s just what you want from a radio on the job site, something that can take a bit of a blow.

Sound:

The DMR106 provides you with the option of FM or AM signals. Keep in mind that this model is analog-only, keep reading if you’re on digital radio reception. The radio bass is installed and coupled with the twin woofers and tweeters, Makita is promising you a balanced hi-fi sound from the tool.

And the radio contains the equalizer for fine-tuning the bass and the treble. Ideal for pumping out tunes that can be heard from anywhere you’re working.

Power:

The DMR106 XR comes with a 2 m power cord wrap around it, which ensures that the radio can be operated by the mains. But if you’re nowhere near the power source, which is likely, the radio will also run off your XR batteries, whether versions 10.8v, 14.4v or 18v.
